Little Mix | GirlLove

I felt really touched by Superwoman's video about GirlLove, because it is true that women spread a lot of negativity around about other women. Girl on girl hate sucks! I am trying to tell other women that I actually admire what they're doing and spread some positivity. And what better way than regularly write on my blog about women that inspire me?! 

NEDERLANDS: Ik zag onlangs de video van Superwoman over GirlLove en ik neem maar al te graag deel aan de uitdaging om andere vrouwen complimenten te geven in plaats van erover te roddelen. Girl on girl hate sucks! Ik probeer tegenwoordig wat positiviteit in andere vrouwen hun leven te brengen door ze te vertellen dat ik hen bewonder voor wat ze doen of wie ze zijn. En door af en toe een GirlLove bericht op mijn blog te plaatsen natuurlijk!

Today I would really like to spread some positivity about Little Mix. This girl group formed in 2011 during the British version of The X Factor. All girls auditioned seperately, but got put together during the show. This is not something I'm a big fan of usually, but it really seems to work out for them. They fit really well together and they seem to have become close friends.

The band consists out of four women: Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson and Leigh-Anne Pinnock. These four women are all extremely talented and gorgeous and I am very happy for them that they got the opportunity to do what they do as their profession. Their music and their presence in general has been inspirational to a lot of other people. 

Everything about Little Mix screams woman empowerment and I love it. It is so important to empower women of all ages to support each other instead of tearing each other down, to learn them to stick together and to be proud of who you are.

NEDERLANDS: Vandaag wil ik gauw even vertellen waarom ik Little Mix zo fantastisch vind. Deze groep werd tijdens de Britse versie van het programma The X Factor gevormd. Alle meiden deden apart auditie, maar gedurende de show werden ze als een groep samengezet. Dit is iets wara ik normaal niet zo'n fan van ben, maar bij hen lijkt het echt te werken. Ze passen goed bij elkaar, vullen elkaar mooi aan en ze lijken ook echt goede vriendinnen te zijn geworden.

De groep bestaat uit vier vrouwen: Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson en Leigh-Anne Pinnock. Deze vier dames zijn allemaal ontzettend getalenteerd en zien er bovendien stuk voor stuk geweldig uit. Ik ben superblij voor hen dat ze dit echt als hun job kunnen doen. Hun muziek en hun openheid inspireert dagelijks veel mensen.

Alles aan Little Mix schreeuwt feminisme en gelijkheid en dat vind ik geweldig. Het is zo belangrijk om vrouwen (en natuurlijk ook mannen) te doen geloven in hun dromen, ze te leren om samen te werken en elkaar te appreciëren in plaats van elkaar te haten, en het belangrijkste van al: om jezelf graag te zien.

Als je nog nooit van Little Mix had gehoord, raad ik je aan om ze nu op te zoeken en ook geïnspireerd te raken!
